International Women's Day with our Self-Help Groups
A celebration with the women of our self-help groups in the urban deprived areas — skills, savings groups and stories of changed households.

About this event
Our work reaches beyond the children in our Homes. In the urban deprived areas of Vijayawada we run literacy centres and support women’s self-help groups, and International Women’s Day is when those groups take centre stage.
The morning brings together the women who save together, run small enterprises and keep their children in school. They present what their groups have achieved over the year, and we hand out stationery and learning materials for the children in their households.
It is one of the most hopeful days of our year, and a reminder that reaching a mother reaches the whole family.
