Assisted since our inception in 1991
In the grand scheme of things ours may be a drop in the ocean. But for each individual child, humanitarian assistance is the difference between a life of misery and a fulfilling life.
Driven by Compassion,
Guided by Humanity

Care & Share Charitable Trust was registered in Vijayawada in 1997 and has been reaching out to children since 1991.
We run two Children’s Villages — Daddy’s Home and Butterfly Hill — a Sishu Gruha for abandoned babies, homes for HIV+ children, literacy centres and schools in urban deprived areas, and a Distance Adoption Programme that keeps children in school.

How it all began —
from a photo to a movement
In February 1991 Antonio Rigopoulos returned from India with three black and white photographs of the children in an orphanage at Manginapudi. His sister, Carol Faison, took the lead to organise support, and soon every child in the Boarding Home had a Sponsor Family.

Distance Adoption

The Founder & Chairman

Carol took the lead in organising the very first sponsorships in 1991, after her brother Antonio Rigopoulos returned from India with three photographs of children in an orphanage at Manginapudi. She founded Care & Share Charitable Trust with Noel Harper in 1997. She is remembered here with love and gratitude.

Noel was Director of the Catholic Social Service Centre in Vijayawada when he met Carol in 1994. They joined hands to reach out not only to children in orphanages but also to children on the streets and the railway station, in the slums, the rural poor and children with mental and physical disabilities.
“As one person I cannot change the world, but I can change the world of one person.”
